‘Exposed’
This print is a product of a response on trying to remove a gaze. The negative of a woman in lingerie has been exposed from the camera back being purposefully opened, abstracting the image originally captured. By exposing the film, I am also playing on how the model dressed in lingerie feels and is exposed. The photograph doesn’t visually portray a traditional image of a woman but theoretically there is one being shown. Therefore, is there still a gaze if we can’t see the female subject; or do we internally gaze on the woman we imagine to be in the photograph?
